How Two Recent Trends in the Industry Enable Our New App for Crew Briefing
During the last weeks, our latest product took the second and most important step towards being developed. Lido mBriefing will be a native crew briefing app for tablets combining offline capability, updates via onboard connectivity and Navlog functionality for post-flight analysis. After further market analysis and careful consideration of customer feedback, the Lufthansa Systems board has now approved the development of the application.

Small button, big sensitivity area!
We’ve received some user feedback that the button to expand/collapse the flight folder in Lido mPilot was too small to tap in vibratory/turbulent conditions.
The sensitivity area of this button or “hot zone” is actually larger than the button itself and extends horizontally to include the displayed title on its right. This is valid for all modules of the application: terminal charts, enroute and documents.

What is state of the art technology when it comes to working with General Navigation Information and References?
Pilots need to look up supplementary navigational information in the General Part during all flight phases several times a flight. This process can be time consuming, especially when the respective documents are displayed in 3rd party readers. Pilots have to deal with different formats and user interfaces while administrators have to maintain two applications. Those readers are not necessarily designed for the airline industry where needs of users are different from those of consumer applications.
